Pi Day! Let’s Bake a Pie!

Print This Post Print This Post Pi Day! Let's Bake a Pie!

Today is 3-14.

To mathematicians loopy over numbers, it is Pi Day. They figure that March 14 = 3/14 = 3.14 = 3.14159, which in their world is pi. It also happens to be Albert Einstein’s birthday (March 14, 1879), so they have a double reason for their pi party.

(Here’s a great, simple explanation of Pi, for those of us who are not mathematicians.)

Foodies, never shy about appropriating some else’s day, have turned Pi Day into PIE DAY.

So let’s bake! Here are 5 of my favorite pies to bake for a sweet finish to Pi Day.  Click the links under each picture to take you to my tried-and-true recipes.

Tammy,
Thank you! That is a fabulous compliment! My goal is to have EVERYONE have the same success I do when it comes to pie.

Today I baked the Meyer Lemon Chess Pie using regular
lemons…………….as Rachel Ray would say………..YUMMO
This pie was fast, easy and seriously really really good. Perfect
balance of sweet and tart.

I like anything that starts with “Meyer lemon…” so I think I will have to try that beautiful Meyer Lemon Pie!
