Back to school time can seem like a 4-letter word sometimes. Transitioning from easier, slower, lazier days of summer to frenetic fall, with homework, school schedules, sports, after-school activities and more can be challenging.
With two busy kids here, I try to be efficient and take shortcuts when I can, especially in the kitchen. I also have a budget to meet, so I appreciate finding quality items for a good value.
I have found a trifecta! KRAFT products at Dollar General stores inspire me with dinner ideas, recipes and coupons and deals.
I’ve found some things at Dollar General that I want to try – A.1. Dry Rub is going to be great on flank steak. (Have you ever cooked your flank steak inside on a George Foreman grill? It makes it super easy on a weeknight.)
And I’ve been putting PLANTERS nuts into little snack bags so they are easy to grab and go, for either me or the kids. Having them already portioned out helps to keep the calories under control, too.
And don’t even ask me what I’m going to do with the Kraft Caramels. It might involve pie crust and pecans.
I also found a recipe for Frosty Strawberry Pops on their website that is on my to-try list this summer. It’s made with my beloved fresh strawberries and KOOL-AID LIQUID, so comes together in a flash. You just have to wait for them to freeze. You can get the full recipe by visiting Dollar General.
And while you’re on that website, check at the top and click on the coupons tab. I’m a big user of coupons to keep my budget in check.
From Dollar General, my son wants LUNCHABLES! I pack his lunch every day, and sometimes he gets a LUNCHABLES UPLOADED Lunch Combinations as a treat.
So if you’re looking for kid-friendly, family-friendly, budget-friendly food that can be made in a snap on busy weeknights, check out Dollar General for dinner ideas, recipes and coupons/deals on KRAFT products.
I’ll see you there.
