Print This Post Print This Post Happy July 4th from Food Bloggers L.A.! Did we hear the word party? Red, white and blue celebration?

Food Bloggers Los Angeles is ALWAYS up for a party, especially when it revolves around food. We timed our pre-July 4th party to get our recipes revved up for the big day, so scheduled a picnic at the beach in Santa Monica.

What better combo than sun, fresh air and the company of fellow foodie fanatics to kick off the whole summer season of parties, potlucks and picnics?

We food bloggers have the recipes for your bash, binge, blast, blowout, or bacchanal, whatever your have in mind.

Strawberry juice from In Erika's KitchenFBLA co-founder Erika Kerekes of In Erika’s Kitchen brought a lovely strawberry juice to get us started in the right color scheme…

Steak sandwiches from In Erika's Kitchen…and followed it with Steak Sandwiches with Herb Butter and Arugula. Yum.

Italian Pressed Sandwich from Adventures with Nancy RoseAlso in a sammich mood, Nancy Rose Eisman of Adventures With Nancy Rose brought a vegan Pressed Italian Sandwich. None of us could believe that the “meat” and “cheese” inside were vegan – that’s how authentic it tasted.

Thai-Style Cabbage Slaw from Shockinglydelicious.comThai-Style Cabbage Slaw from Shockinglydelicious.comI (Shockingly Delicious) brought a crunchy, fresh tasting Thai-Style Cabbage Slaw, which could sit out on a picnic table without fear since it has no mayo.

Cucumber Ribbon Salad from Fresh Food in a FlashPatricia Rose of Fresh Food in a Flash was also in a salad mood, and brought her Cucumber Ribbon Salad with Goat Cheese. (How many times in one post am I allowed to say yum?)

Red Pepper Hummus from BibbercheLana Watkins of the blog Bibberche brought a wonderful red pepper hummus with pita triangles to dip.

Kim Burnell of Rustic Garden Bistro proved an important point with her contribution of hummus and dip from the Irvine Farmer’s Market. If you absolutely, positively don’t have time to make something for a potluck, simply know a good source and buy the item. Your fellow partygoers want you at the party, not avoiding it out of guilt because you didn’t have time to cook. Truly. Tattoo that on your forearm.

Funfetti Rice Krispies Treats from Shockinglydelicious.comAnd finally, no party is complete without RKTs, is it? I bought my Funfetti Rice Krispies Treats (special recipe with browned butter) because they remind me of fireworks!
